Insulator

Post insulator is a special insulation control device, which can play an important role in overhead transmission line. In the early years, post insulators were mainly used for utility poles, and gradually developed into high-voltage connection towers with a large number of suspension insulators hanging at one end. It is to increase the creepage distance and is usually made of silica gel or ceramic, called insulator.

The material is made of chopped glass fiber and unsaturated resin by molding and adding wire holes. The diameter of wire holes is determined by the customer. In the dry-type transformer, it is divided into low-voltage and high-voltage, which are symmetrical.

Insulators play two basic roles in overhead transmission lines, namely, supporting conductors and preventing current from returning to the ground. These two functions must be guaranteed. The insulator shall not fail due to flashover and breakdown caused by changes in environment and power load conditions. Otherwise, the insulator will lose its function, which will damage the service life and operation life of the whole line. It has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, small dispersion, safe and reliable operation, good low-temperature mechanical performance, good pollution resistance, high seismic performance and low radio interference.
